A 35th Anniversary tour! Celebrated by playing the whole of "Damned, Damned, Damned" and "The Black Album" plus some goodies during the encore... quite a night!

Smashing Pumpkins, Newcastle O2, 14 Nov 11

It was a busy week all round w/c 14 Nov, with an arrival back in the UK for me on the afternoon of the 14th and a Smashing Pumpkins gig in Newcastle that very evening. A date with The Cure the following day in London, coupled with gigs back in Newcastle and Gateshead on the Thursday, Friday and Saturday has resulted in a slight delay in image processing... but enough of that.

It'd been a few years since I last saw Mr Corgan (1997 actually, Roskilde Festival) and the Pumpkin line up was radically different. The music wasn't and boy did they rock!

1981 comes along very quickly ... I'm almost convinced that the songs were being played extra fast! So so so impressive, the faith album was immense. My first show with Lol, it was great to see him here tonight. Keys sounded amazing... especially during the funeral party.
