Echo and the Bunnymen, York Grand Opera House, 29 Sep 11

It had been a few years since we'd last spent an evening with the Bunnymen, so a chance to hear the whole of the classic "ocean rain" was too tempting to resist...

Cast in 80s shadow, Ian pulled off a great set, with a warm up section of songs including bedbugs and ballyhoo, never stop and rescue.

After a short intermission (toilet break for an aging audience?), ocean rain was performed... epic!

A couple of encores followed the album recital, with nothing lasts forever, lips like sugar and the cutter completing a fantastic evening.

Lighting was pretty much behind Ian McCulloch for the whole show, so photography was vitually impossible!

The Cure, Radio City Music Hall, New York, 21 Jun 2008

A taster video or two from an epic show. We were in the back row of the stalls. Video imagary is terrible, but a couple of  rarely performed songs on the 4Tour...

The hanging garden...

end of "a forest" and the final song of the 4Tour - epic version of "forever"...

More words, pictures from this show on another day.

Manic Street Preachers, Carlisle Sands Centre, 02 Nov 10
