Riverside

Should be a good read during the concert-less festive period... Might just prompt a few old ticket scans from this much missed venue.

Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Newcastle Academy, 03 Dec 2009

A trip down memory lane -

I saw Yeah Yeah Yeahs earlier in 2009 at Lollapolooza (covering for Beastie Boys) but had to view from a distance as the crowd was huge! It was an easier show to get to the front at Newcastle, all we had to do was arrive early enough to get a good spot. Karen O and her team certainly know how to pull off a good show - great combination of dramatic costumes, playing to the crowd, lighting and a huge inflatable eyeball!!

Kasabian, Newcastle Arena, 08 Dec 11 ii

Another selection from the second half of the gig. For me, black and white concert photography just "works"...

Getting the crowd going...

Triumphant end...

Indulgence

Had an email off the cure's record label/website recently....

"The Cure played a truly stunning live show at the Royal Albert Hall in November. This was the only UK date announced on their Reflections Tour, and a final chance to see them play the first three albums live in their entirety. If you missed out check out some of the great photos that were taken here and here."

The first link was to this blog!!!

Cheers !

Hasty edit - So with the above in mind, how about on the next tour/show (2012?!) the cure take me on as their show photographer???!!! C'mon lads, you k now it makes sense!!!!

Kasabian, Newcastle Arena, 08 Dec 11 i

An excellent show from Kasabian ... the Velociraptor! tour was a step up from the last time we saw them at Newcastles' Academy (and they were great then too!). Spectacular lighting and high energy from the band... A great gig to end 2011.

How many bass?...

Another installment soon...

Miles Kane, Newcastle Arena, 08 Dec 11

Superb support for Kasabian at Newcastles' Arena in the form of Miles Kane, pity he suffered from support band lighting - ie very little!...
